1st Commonwealth Conference on Sports Tourism Print
Recent Programmes

13th to 15th May 2008
KOTA KINABALU, SABAH, MALAYSIA

REPORT BY : RABEATUAL ABAS & HAIRINA IRENE HISHAM

The conference title is Sports Tourism. The conference is very comprehensive covering the research of professors on sports and tourism from various universities, the many sports events that was held over the last few years in Malaysia,

Sabah as the state in Malaysia that champions on scuba diving and the fresh-virgin rainforest and last but not least the view from the ministry of tourism on how to co-relate sports and tourism into one stronghold in increasing revenue for the country and relating this to a new business model.

The conference was held over a period of 3 days

In conclusion, we strongly feel that WSFFM can benefit by organizing activities that tie-up with some aspects of tourism in it and should not limit its participation to the Malaysian ladies only.

We could open our activities to ladies in the international arena and instill some of our in-bound tourism into these activities. With this then the WSFFM is answering to the call of the tourism ministry in creating awareness of tourism whilst enjoying sporting activities in Malaysia.

We would like to thank the WSFFM for the opportunity given in nominating us to attend this event.
